Neuroscience foundations, clinically directed research.

William's early research examined neural signaling from several perspectives: microglial activation and dopamine D1 receptor modulation in rodent models, receptor responses in the central nervous system of Periplaneta americana, and development of a yeast-based cellular reporter for acetylcholine.

Since 2023, his work has centered on clinical research in surgery. At Endeavor Health, he supports investigators across trauma and acute care surgery, surgical oncology, ophthalmology, colorectal surgery, and related outcomes research. His responsibilities include study development, regulatory and data-governance workflows, Epic-based abstraction, database construction, statistical collaboration, and scholarly communication.

Across these settings, he is most interested in research that turns carefully defined clinical questions into evidence that can improve judgment and care.
